🎉 2023 provided some of the most fruitful growth for me. From my personal highlight of getting engaged to my phenomenal partner in April. To my academic growth graduating with my M.S. in Communications from S.I. Newhouse School of Public Communications at Syracuse University. Last but definitely not least, joining KQED as Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion (DEI) Program Manager. This been a career-defining move and truly an honor to contribute to an organization dedicated to fostering diverse voices and perspectives in media! In embracing these moments, I've learned invaluable lessons:💡 Cherishing every accomplishment, no matter how big or small.💡 Pursuing ambitious goals while staying adaptable has taught me that sometimes our dreams evolve, and that's okay. Being persistent in creating new dreams aligned with our lives, in any path they take us, is crucial.💡 Stepping into the unknown, whether in relationships, academics, or careers, has opened doors to unexpected opportunities and incredible experiences.💡 Embracing curiosity about different perspectives, cultures, and ideas has not only made me more inclusive but also enriched my personal growth, fostering a deeper understanding of the world around me. Let’s say you got an email that your flight was canceled. The airline has sent a voucher, but what you really want is a full refund. You could reply, and use “Help me write.”Just type in the prompt of what you want — an email that asks for a full refund — hit create, and a full draft appears. It conveniently pulls in flight details from the previous email. It looks pretty close to what you want to send, I assume in next five to ten years industries related to data science and Ai, will flourish like anything, so it is very much important to choose right degree at right time,it been delightful to address wonderful young friends with so much of meaningful questions in their mind about future market demands, opportunities and with which degree they should go with. Last week, I had the great pleasure of attending my first Merit America Company Retreat. There were so many notable moments shared with my colleagues. 🌟 One of the key takeaways was about "meta-cognition," essentially "learning how to learn." This is something that Merit learners and coaches do everyday without realizing it. Sometimes it's scary, other times enlightening and all the time, rewarding.🌟 This concept of meta-cognition also has an emphasis on building relationships (and community) with other learners and Merit staff. In order to succeed, it truly takes a village to get it done.🌟 Lastly, it is not meant to be PERFECT, but uniquely right for each, individual learner. A step in the right direction

I just got done holding my 7th camp out of a scout troop on my property in Zion Canyon, Utah, with the highlight of this camp out being a night time performance of a play created by the scouts over 8 hours on Saturday as part of their quest to earn Theater merit badge. The thing you’ll notice about the photo? The troop had nearly an equal mix of girls and boys. I was hopeful things would go well when the Boys Scouts of America changed its name to Scouts BSA and began admitting girls in 2018. All of my hopes at the time have been realized! As an adult leading campouts and counseling for merit badges since 2020, I have never yet heard the kinds of misogynistic statements scouts would sometimes make during my youth. And any other inappropriate behavior during campouts and merit badge clinics? None. ZERO! What I have seen is boys and girls transforming into adults in a program that teaches great life skills and leadership that will prepare them all for the real world. Leaders vary from one troop to the next, but the Senior Patrol Leader (senior kid leader) for this weekend’s troop was a girl, and the Scoutmaster (senior adult leader) was a woman. The other assisting adults, like most of the troops I’ve worked with, were a mix of women and men. Due to the excellent training and oversight of Scouts BSA, I’ve seen no difference in the quality and effectiveness of the leadership provided that can be tied to gender. Each leader has their own experience, skill set and communication style, and those are the defining aspects of their leadership. Kudos to Scouts BSA for making such a bold and instrumental change in 2018! And for those who think girls should continue to have opportunities to participate in groups focused just on girls, I’ve now had the chance to work with girls who have achieved the top ranks in both the Girl Scouts and Scouts BSA, earning their Gold Award in the Girl Scouts simultaneously along with the Eagle Scout rank in Scouts BSA. Employers: look for these people in your recruiting efforts! Anyone who has achieved both top ranks is an already proven candidate for beginning leadership roles in your organization! And make sure to do what you can to support both of these youth development organizations. Where else can candidates gain lots of leadership experience, vocational knowledge and life skills before they enter the work force?!#scoutsbsa #girlscouts #youthdeveloment #recruiting
