PEARL HARBOR, Hawaii (AP) For the time since the war, Alvis Taylor returned to Pearl Harbor and recalled the surprise Japanese air attack that plunged America into World War II. After the Navy, he worked for DuPont, and in 1974, took a job in the nuclear industry building, then maintaining and eventually the demolition of power plants with a hydro and co-gen plant in the mix. In 2005, he took a job at a federal bomb site in Colorado. Rocky Flats was taken back to green years ahead of schedule. Retirement in 2005 brought him back to Berwick and the home that was rented out for 30 years. Restoration took close to a year with a great deal of family help.

He liked to race go-carts in younger years and open wheel as a young adult. He was a Boy Scout, wrestled in high school and played baseball on many teams through his life. He was a member of the Elks, Ranger Hose Ridgerun- ners, Hunting Club, enjoyed old cars with wheels and engines and the tinkering that went with them. Throughout the years, he had enjoyed RV-ing, hunting, boating, tractors, Corvettes, riding his Harley and working with family was at the top of his list. In addition to his father, he is preceded in death by a father- in-law, Richard P.

Belles. Her greatest joy and light of her life were her grandchildren and great-grandchildren; she treasured every minute spent with them.
